Dr. Dmitry Ganenkov is PI of the DFG-funded project Exploring the edges of Obligatory Control and a researcher in the Research Area 3 'Syntax & Lexicon'.
His research interests are centered around Nakh-Daghestanian languages and include language documentation, description, and theoretical research. He has worked on Lezgic languages (Lezgian, Agul, Tabasaran, Udi), various Dargwa dialects/languages, and Lak. He conducts theoretical research on various morphosyntactic topics, such as argument structure, ergativity, agreement, obligatory control, reported speech, clitics, allomorphy.
