DOL 2023 Final Round

The final round of the DOL took place at ZAS in May. Through the careful work of the jury, with the support of the Linguistics Department at HHU Düsseldorf, the team for the participation in the International Linguistics Olympiad 2023 could be determined: Merlin Fischer, Dániel Páhi, Ruth Plümer and Jannes Köhler will travel for Germany to Bansko in Bulgaria.

The final round was generously sponsored by the German Society for Linguistics. Prizes included book donations from Language Science Press

Results of the 2nd round

The second round ended in April, with a total of 36 students participating. The cut-off was 58 points, which qualified eleven participants for the final round. The final will take place on May 12 in Berlin and hybrid.

Results of the 1st round

The first round is now over and out of 85 students 34 have qualified for the next round. Below is an overview of the points achieved by the participants, with the minimum limit being 40 points.

We hope that even those who did not advance had fun participating and continue to enjoy languages and linguistics. Next year there will be another opportunity to participate in the Linguistics Olympiad!
